Project 2 : Motion Graphic

Exercise 3: Kinetic Typography

As a group, we were assigned to select a song to create a lyric video using our techniques in After Effects. Our group decided to use the song Arctics Monkeys- 505 based on its rhythm and lyrics.

Once selected, we split the music into chorus and verses. To ensure the consistency of the lyrics video style and visual aesthetic, our group discussed a series of colour palettes and typefaces as a starting document. We came up with a miro board of art direction for each group member to follow.

Exercise 4: Motion Graphic Chart

We learned how to animate shapes and lines in order to create pie/donut charts, bar charts and line graph for our final project. The chart assigned to me was D: Line Graph.

Exercise 5: Vector/Character Animation

We learned how to animate vector characters with some basic transform properties (position, scale, rotation) and some advanced tools such as bounce effect, wiggle and puppet position pin tool for our final project. The character animation assigned to me was D.
